Crater Lake is a beautiful national park with plenty of activities for its visitors to do while they are there. First stop: the visitor centre, to learn all about the history and how Crater Lake was formed. You may wish to then spend the day hiking or take the Rim Drive around the lake for spectacular views. If you would like to dip your toes into the lake, swimming is permitted at Wizard Island and Cleetwood Cove (it can be very cold, however!)

Why not take a picnic to the park and find a lovely place to perch yourself for lunch looking out across the lake. During the summer months the national park runs boat tours of the lake on a first come first served basis – purchase these 24 hours prior at Crater Lake Lodge or the Annie Creek Gift Shop. If you have nowhere to be, stay and watch the stars come out; the night sky here is incredible!
